We mourn the passing of the former Cathedral Archivist, Celeste Raspanti, Ph.D.
Many of our Cathedral Festival of Lights galas included a theatrical narration written by Celeste to bring an emotional connection to an aspect of Cathedral history. For the “Ireland” production, those recruited for narration roles included CHF Curator Cay Shea, Relevant Radio host Patrick Conley, Saint Paul Seminary Rector Msgr. Aloysius Callaghan, and Cathedral parishioner Richard Warren. They felt lucky to be chosen!
Fr. Joseph Johnson, Cathedral Rector, invited Celeste to host one more lecture on Archbishop John Ireland in December 2025, and the occasion upon which this photo was taken. More than 200 people attended the lecture, and people marveled at her depth of knowledge of both Ireland and his vision for our landmark Cathedral on the hill.
