Joseph Metzler captured the winning shot of the Fourth of July Fireworks over the Cathedral of Saint Paul and Cathedral Hill Park. It was a stunning sight to see after strong winds, thunder and lighting stormed through the area. The fireworks launched at 10:08 pm after Archbishop Bernard Hebda and Saint Paul Mayor Kaohly Her led the countdown on the Cathedral front steps. It was a great night of community celebration.
We received 39 photo submissions, all stunningly beautiful, showing different perspectives on the celebration. Our three judges enjoyed their assignment and they also named two runners-up in the photo contest: Shawn Koehnen and Tim Charles. Their winning images are shared below. All will be receiving bragging rights and gift bags filled with items from the Cathedral Gift Store.
